We're looking for a Software Test Engineer to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of our Shopify applications through a strong mix of manual testing and test automation.

Our flagship apps Flits Loyalty and Flits Wishlist are trusted by merchants across the globe to boost engagement, repeat purchases, and lasting customer relationships. Quality is at the heart of everything we build, and you'll work closely with the QA Lead, developers, product managers, and designers to keep it that way.

What you will do

Manual Testing

Execute manual testing for new features, bug fixes, and regression cycles across Flits Loyalty and Flits Wishlist.
Design clear, reusable test cases from product requirements, covering functional gaps, edge cases, and usability issues.
Perform cross-browser, cross-device, and responsive UI testing.

Automation

Develop and maintain clean, well-structured automation scripts for web apps and APIs using Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress.
Gradually expand automation coverage for regression-heavy areas to improve release speed and reliability.

Collaboration & Process

Work closely with developers and product managers to catch issues early; report bugs with clear reproduction steps and follow through to resolution.
Participate in sprint planning, feature discussions, and release validation, and suggest improvements to testing processes and coverage.

Experience & Education

0–2 years in Software Testing (Manual or Automation) or fresh graduates with strong fundamentals and internship/project experience are encouraged to apply.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.

Required Skills

Strong grasp of testing concepts (SDLC, STLC) with working knowledge of Manual, Regression, Functional, and API Testing.
Basic automation experience with frameworks like Playwright, Selenium, or Cypress; familiarity with JavaScript/TypeScript preferred.
Basic understanding of Git, and the ability to write clear, structured bug reports and test cases.
Excellent communication skills and comfort collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

Hands-on Playwright experience (our primary automation framework).
Experience testing SaaS or e-commerce applications, or knowledge of the Shopify ecosystem.
API testing with Postman; basic understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
Exposure to SQL and database validation; experience with Jira or similar tools.

Interview Preparation

During the interview process, you will be assigned the following tasks:

Task 1: Manual Testing

You'll be given a feature or web page (could be a live Flits app screen or a sample site).
Identify functional, UI, and usability issues.
Suggest relevant edge cases a user might hit.
Write 2–3 well-structured bug reports with clear reproduction steps.

Task 2: Test Case Writing

Given a sample feature (e.g., "Add to Wishlist" or "Redeem Loyalty Points"), write a set of functional and negative test cases.
Include at least one boundary/edge case scenario.

Task 3: Automation Fundamentals

Based on your experience, you'll either explain a previous automation project, or write a simple automation script (JavaScript or Playwright).

Task 4: Problem Solving

You'll be given a real-world product scenario (e.g., a new feature launching under time pressure).
Explain how you'd approach testing it, prioritize what to test first, and decide when it's "release ready."
